2 to 3 potatoes
3 to 4 carrots
2 to 3 onions
1/2 c. raw rice
1 lb. ground beef
1 can tomato juice
1 small can peas

Into buttered baking dish slice: potatoes, carrots,
onions, raw rice, ground beef, tomato juice and peas. Salt
each layer and add 1 teaspoon sugar between layers. Cook
ground beef loosely until brown. Lightly place on top of
vegetables. Pour tomato juice on top; cover. Bake for 1 1/2
hours or until carrots are done.
