BACON AND CHEESE GRITS 3/4 c. white hominy quick grits 1/2 tsp. salt 3 c. boiling water 6 crispy cooked bacon slices, crumbled 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese Stir grits into salted boiling water in medium saucepan. Return to boil; reduce heat to medium. Cook about 5 minutes, stirring occa- sionally. Remove from heat; stir in bacon and cheese. Serve with butter, if desired. Serves 6.
