ELEPHANT STEW

1 large elephant
salt and pepper
1 to 2 rabbits
50 lb. potatoes
35 lb. carrots

Secure 1 large elephant; kill, clean and cut into small
cubes. This will take about 2 months. Add carrots and pota-
toes. Put in large kettle and simmer over kerosene heat at
465 degrees for 14 weeks. Make gravy to cover. This serves 3,685
people. If more meat is needed, add 1 to 2 rabbits. But use
only if necessary as few people want hare in their stew!
