SHEPHERD'S PIE

12 to 14 biscuits (homemade
biscuits work better, but
canned ones may be used)
1 lb. ground beef
salt and pepper to taste
1 can mixed vegetables
3/4 to 1 c. diced onion
2 heaping Tbsp. flour
1/2 can water

Brown ground beef and onion in skillet. Salt and pepper
to taste. When beef is brown, stir in flour. Mix well and add
1 can mixed vegetables and 1/2 can water; stir and let simmer
until thickened. Pour into 10-inch casserole dish. Dip
biscuits in melted butter or margarine and arrange on top.
Bake in 450 degrees oven until biscuits are brown. May be refrigerat-
ed and warmed as needed.
