BARBEQUE BEANS 1/2 lb. bacon, cut into 1/2-inch strips 6 c. water 2 c. dry limas 1 large onion 1 clove garlic, minced 2 Tbsp. oil 1 1/2 tsp. chili powder 1/3 c. brown sugar 1/3 c. wine vinegar 1 Tbsp. molasses 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 2 tsp. prepared mustard 1 tsp. salt Bring water to a boil. Add limas and bacon; cook slowly for 1 1/2 hours. Drain beans and save juice. Saute onion and garlic in oil. Add chili powder, brown sugar, wine vinegar, molasses, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and salt. Combine with bean juice. Cover beans with bacon. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, covered. Uncover and bake 15 minutes more.
