PATIO PICNIC BEANS 1/4 c. cane syrup or dark corn syrup 1 Tbsp. vinegar 1 Tbsp. lemon juice 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/3 c. water 1 Tbsp. butter 1/2 c. chopped onion 1/2 c. chopped pepper 1 1/2 Tbsp. brown sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 1/2 tsp. chili powder 1/2 tsp. paprika 1/8 tsp. red pepper 3 1/2 c. canned pork and beans 5 frankfurters, cut into 1/2-inch slices Mix all ingredients, except pork and beans and frank- furters, in pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and cook for 5 minutes. Pour pork and beans and frankfurters in baking dish; cover with sauce. Place 4 or 5 slices of bacon on top and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
