7 c. cooked beans or 2 (28
oz.) cans pork and beans
1 c. applesauce or 1 large
tart apple, chopped fine
1 large onion, chopped
1 c. light brown sugar
1/2 c. sorghum molasses
1/2 c. ketchup (3/4 c.), if
homecooked beans are used
1/2 c. bacon bits or crisp
fried bacon, crumbled
1 tsp. prepared salad mustard
sprinkle of salt and freshly
ground pepper

Drain beans of all excess liquid. Discard pieces of
fat. Combine all ingredients and mix well. Bake at 350 degrees for
45 minutes to 1 hour.
