5 c. shredded cabbage
4 slices bacon, diced
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 c. water
1/3 c. vinegar
salt and pepper
small onion, sliced
Cook cabbage in boiling, salted water 7 minutes. Fry
bacon until crisp. Remove bacon from pan and add to the bacon
fat the sugar and flour. Blend. Add water, vinegar and
seasonings. Cook until thick. Add onion, diced bacon and
cabbage. Heat through. Serves 4 to 6.
