CUT (SCHNITZEL) BEANS 1 1/2 lb. green beans, cut in 1-inch pieces 3 slices bacon 1 Tbsp. shortening 3 large onions, sliced 1 tsp. salt few grains cayenne pepper 1 c. hot water 4 medium tomatoes, cut in pieces Dice and fry bacon until crisp. Mix in remaining ingredients, except tomatoes. Cook, covered, over low heat 1 hour. Add tomatoes and continue cooking 2 hours, adding more water if necessary.
