APPLE KUCHEN 3 1/2 c. flour 3 Tbsp. sugar 3 Tbsp. shortening 1 tsp. salt 1 pkg. dry yeast 2 eggs 1/4 c. water 1 c. milk, scalded 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. sugar Blend sugar, salt and shortening. Pour scalded milk over it. Cool to lukewarm and add yeast dissolved in 1/4 cup warm water. Add beaten egg, then flour. Mix by hand until nice and smooth. Allow to rise in warm place. Separate dough into three (8-inch) cake tins which have been greased. Let rise again. Peel, slice and arrange apples by pressing into dough. Sprinkle each kuchen with cinnamon and 1/4 cup sugar mixture. Bake 20 minutes at 375 degrees.
