RAISED DONUTS

1/2 c. warm water
2 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. warm milk
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
6 to 6 1/2 c. flour

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Heat butter, milk and
sugar until butter melts. Remove from heat, cool slightly.
Stir in eggs and yeast. Add 4 to 6 cups flour, add more for
soft dough. Knead until smooth. Place in greased bowl. Let
rise 1 hour and 15 minutes. Punch down. Let rise 55 more
minutes. Roll out on floured board, 1/4-inch. Cut and let
rise 30 minutes. Boil in grease 400 degrees until brown. Place on
paper.
