YEAST ROLLS

1 qt. milk
1 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
2 cakes yeast
1/2 c. lukewarm water
6 c. flour or more
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
4 tsp. salt
melted butter

Bring milk, Crisco and sugar to a boil and let cool.
Dissolve yeast in water. Add to milk mixture and add enough
flour to make consistency of cake batter. Let rise to double
in size (1 to 2 hours). Then add soda, baking powder and salt.
Add enough flour to make as thick as biscuit dough. Put in
refrigerator until ready to use. Roll out and cut with biscuit
cutter. Grease both sides of dough with melted butter and fold
in half. Let rise 2 or 3 hours. Bake in oven at 425 degrees until
brown.
