BUTTERMILK ROLLS

2 pkg. yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. oil
4 1/2 c. flour (approximately)
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Mix yeast, warm water and 1 tablespoon sugar; let stand.
Heat slowly buttermilk, 2 tablespoons sugar, salt and oil. Mix
flour and soda in separate container. Add 1 cup flour to the
liquid at a time. Stir well after each. Turn out on floured
board. Knead 15 times. Put in lightly oiled bowl; let stand
until doubled in size. Make into cinnamon rolls or dinner
rolls. Let rise until doubled. Bake at 375 degrees or until golden
brown, 15 to 20 minutes. You can put 1 tablespoon milk to make
it sour for this recipe.
