LEMON QUICK BREAD

6 Tbsp. butter
2 eggs
1 lemon rind, grated
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped walnuts

Topping:
1/3 c. sugar
juice of 1 lemon
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. cold milk
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream together butter and sugar until creamy. Add and
continue beating eggs, milk and rind. Sift together and add
quickly flour, baking powder and salt. Add nuts. Bake in
regulation bread pan at 350 degrees for approximately 1 hour. Immedi-
ately after removing from oven, pour mixture of 1/3 cup sugar
and lemon juice over top. Cool in pan.
