3/4 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. whole wheat flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2/3 c. chopped almonds
2 Tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter,
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 c. bran cereal
1 1/2 c. banana, mashed (about
3 medium size)

Grease and flour loaf pan or muffin tin. Combine
flours, baking powder, baking soda and salt in small bowl; stir
well. Cream together butter, sugar and egg until fluffy. Add
bran and banana; mix well. Stir in dry ingredients until
blended. Gently stir in almonds, water and vanilla. Spread
batter in prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 minutes until
toothpick inserted comes out clean. Makes 1 loaf.
