DANISH PASTRY PUFF|
2 sticks butter
2 c. flour
2 Tbsp. water
1 c. water
1 tsp. almond flavoring
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 Tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 to 2 Tbsp. warm water
chopped nuts (optional)
Dough: Mix 1 stick butter, 1 cup flour, 2 tablespoons
water. Divide dough in half. Spread on ungreased cookie
sheet. Makes two 12 x 3-inch strips.
Custard: Boil 1 cup water, 1 stick butter. Bring to
rolling boil. Stir in almond flavoring, 1 cup flour over low
heat until a ball forms. Remove and beat in eggs. Spread
custard over crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Icing: Mix powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons butter,
vanilla, 1 to 2 tablespoons warm water and nuts.
