2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/3 c. ice water
fruit filling of choice

Sift flour and salt together and cut in shortening. Add
water, a little at a time. Form dough in ball; divide in half.
Roll one portion to 1/8-inch thick. Cut into 4-inch rounds.
Into each, drop 1 tablespoon of fruit filling in the center.
Moisten the edge and fold into a crescent. Press edge with
fork to seal. Fry in deep fat. When cool, sprinkle with
powdered sugar. This makes about two dozen.
