POPPY SEED BREAD 3 c. flour 2 c. sugar 3 eggs 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 Tbsp. poppy seeds 1 1/2 c. milk 3/4 c. vegetable oil 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 1 1/2 tsp. almond extract 1 1/2 tsp. butter flavoring Orange Glaze: 1 c. sifted powdered sugar 2 Tbsp. orange juice 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract 1/4 tsp. almond extract 1/4 tsp. butter flavoring Combine flour, sugar, eggs, salt, poppy seed, milk, oil, vanilla extract, almond extract and butter flavoring. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed of electric mixer. Spoon batter into 2 greased and floured 8 x 4 x 3-inch loaf pans; bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until a wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool loaves in pan 10 minutes; remove from pans and cool completely on racks. Yield: 2 loaves. Orange Glaze: Combine all ingredients, mixing well. Drizzle bread with glaze. Yield: 1/2 cup.
