BUTTERMILK BREAD (Cinnamon Bread) 6 c. flour 2 tsp. salt 1/4 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. soda 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 c. shortening 2 pkg. dry yeast 1 3/4 c. buttermilk Bake at 350 degrees about 35 minutes. Sift dry ingredients; add shortening and work like pie crust. Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water. Add buttermilk. Stir until ingredients are mixed, then knead lightly. Let rise until doubled. Divide into two loaves. Roll flat; add sugar and cinnamon. Roll into loaves. Slash tops. Let rise.
