FAVORITE APPLE PIE pastry for 2 crust (9-inch) pie 6 or 7 tart apples, pared, cored and thinly sliced or 6 c. pie-sliced apples, drained 3/4 to 1 c. sugar 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour 1/2 to 1 tsp. cinnamon dash of nutmeg dash of salt 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine Combine sugars, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Mix with sliced apples. Line 9-inch pie plate with pastry. Fill with apple mixture. Dot with butter or margarine. Adjust lattice top crust. Trim and seal edges. Bake in 400 degrees oven for 55 to 60 minutes or until apples are done. Serve pie slightly warm.
