MAMAN CHAILLAND'S CHESS PIE|
1 stick butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 egg yolks
1 whole egg
1/2 c. whipping cream
Melt butter slowly as cream remaining ingredients. Beat
in the melted butter. Pour into a 9-inch unbaked pie shell and
bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes then 350 degrees for 30 minutes. You may
use the egg whites to top this pie with meringue but my family
prefers very lightly sweetened whipped cream. I suppose one
could substitute oleo for the butter; but I truly believe that
would be a sin.
