GERMAN BREAKFAST BREAD

1/2 c. butter or margarine,
softened
1 1/3 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped walnuts
2 oz. mini chocolate chips
1 c. vacuum packed wheat germ
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. candied cherries
(optional)
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. milk
1 tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugar; beat in eggs. Mix nuts, choco-
late, wheat germ, raisins, fruit, flour, baking powder and
salt. Stir into creamed mixture alternately with milk. Turn
into well greased and floured tube or Bundt pan. Bake 1 hour
at 350 degrees. Cool 20 minutes, then invert on rack until cool.
