PAPA BRUNCK'S GERMAN APPLE PIE

7 medium tart cooking apples
1 egg
3/4 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. butter, melted
1 tsp. flour
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
pinch of salt

Peel and core apples; grate and set aside. Beat egg
slightly. Add sugar, melted butter, flour, pie spice and salt.
Add mixture to grated apples; mix well. Put into uncooked pie
shell. Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour.
Sugar and cinnamon may be sprinkled on top before
baking, if desired.
