CREAM PUFFS AND FILLING

Puffs:

1 c. boiling water
3 eggs
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
2 tsp. baking powder

Filling:
1 c. sugar
2 c. milk
1 egg
1/8 tsp. salt
1/3 c. cornstarch
1 tsp. vanilla

Puffs: Heat water and shortening in saucepan until it
boils hard. Add all at once, flour and salt. Remove from
fire. Mix well. Cool. Mix unbeaten eggs, one at a time. Add
baking powder. Drop on greased pan. Bake 30 minutes at 400 degrees.
Filling: Mix dry ingredients. Add to boiling milk.
Add slightly beaten egg. Cook 15 minutes in double boiler.
Cool slightly; add vanilla. Cut puff open and put in cream
filling.
