BANANA BREAD

1/2 c. butter (1 stick)
1 to 1 1/2 c. mashed bananas
1/4 to 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Cream the butter; gradually add sugar and beat until
light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Blend in
bananas and nuts. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking
powder and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture, beating
only until blended. Turn into greased loaf pan (9 x 5 x
3-inches). Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool in the pan
for 10 minutes.
