APRICOT BREAD

1 c. dried apricots
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. soda
1/4 c. fat
1 c. sugar
1 well beaten egg
1/4 c. water
1/2 c. orange juice

Soak apricots in warm water for 15 minutes. Drain and
cut into pieces. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and
soda. Cream together fat and sugar. Then add egg, water and
orange juice. Mix well. Add dry ingredients, apricots and
nuts. Bake at 325 degrees to 350 degrees for an hour until tested done.
