CHOCOLATE PIE 1 1/4 c. granulated sugar 2 Tbsp. flour 3 Tbsp. cornstarch 3 rounded Tbsp. Hershey's cocoa 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. evaporated milk 1/2 stick oleo or butter 2 egg yolks 2 c. boiling water 1 tsp. vanilla Sift sugar, flour, cornstarch, cocoa and salt into heavy saucepan; add about half milk to make smooth paste. Add beaten yolks, butter and remaining milk. Mix well. Put on stove over medium heat and add boiling water, stirring constantly. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; add vanilla. Pour into 9-inch baked pie shell. If pudding seems too thick add a little milk. Meringue: 2 egg whites 2 1/2 Tbsp. sugar 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar 1/4 tsp. vanilla Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy. Add sugar slowly, beating after each addition. Continue beating until soft peaks form. Add vanilla with sugar. Spread on pie. Brown on oven.
