SODA CRACKER PIE 3 egg whites 1 c. sugar 16 single soda crackers 1/4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 c. pecans 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. whipped cream 2 c. strawberries or peaches Beat egg whites until stiff. Slowly add sugar and continue beating; add baking powder and vanilla. Fold in crackers that have been rolled into fine crumbs and chopped nuts. Spread over the bottom and sides of a 9-inch buttered pie plate, making layer about 1/2-inch thick. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool. Meringue: Whip cream and fold in fruit. Spread in baked pie shell. Let stand in refrigerator 24 hours.
