BASIC SWEET ROLLS

2 eggs
2 1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. boiling water
3/4 c. shortening
2 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 c. warm water
6 1/2 to 7 c. flour

In a bowl, beat eggs and add salt, milk and sugar. In
second bowl, combine boiling water and shortening. Dissolve
yeast in warm water in a third, very large bowl. Mix ingredi-
ents of the first two bowls and add yeast mixture. Stir in
flour; knead several minutes (can refrigerate up to 5 days at
this point). Shape into rolls and let rise 45 minutes. Bake
at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Can be used for tea rings,
dinner rolls, etc.
