MONKEY BREAD 1 pkg. yeast 1/2 c. lukewarm water 1/2 c. shortening 3/8 c. sugar 3/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. boiling water 1 egg, beaten 3 c. flour 1 stick melted oleo Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water. In second bowl, mix shortening and sugar. Add boiling water and mix well. Add eggs and stir. Add flour and yeast, mix alternately to short- ening mixture. Let rise until double. Punch down. Roll out dough on floured board, about 1/4 to 1/2 thickness. Cut into various shapes. Dip each piece in melted oleo. Line pieces in tube pan until 1/2 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Can refrigerate dough.
