SWEET DOUGH FOR MAPLE STRIPS AND DOUGHNUTS

3 c. lukewarm milk
1 c. sugar
4 tsp. salt
4 pkg. dry yeast
1 c. lukewarm water
4 eggs
1 c. soft shortening
12 to 15 c. flour

Mix together 3 cups lukewarm milk, 1 cup sugar, 4
teaspoons salt. Crumble into mixture 4 packages dry yeast and
1 cup lukewarm water. Stir until dissolved. Stir in 4 eggs, 1
cup soft shortening and 12 to 15 cups flour. Knead well. Put
into pan and let rise until double in size (about 1 hour).
Punch dough down and let rise again. May use for sweet rolls
or dinner rolls. Frost maple bars with maple frosting, pow-
dered sugar, margarine, vanilla and milk or cold black coffee.
