HOBO BREAD

2 c. raisins
2 c. boiling water
4 tsp. soda
2 c. sugar
1/4 c. vegetable oil
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
4 c. flour
nuts and flavoring
1 Tbsp. vanilla (if desired)

Stir raisins, boiling water and soda; leave covered
overnight. Add ingredients to raisin, water and soda mixture.
Add 1 cup of flour at a time mixing well. Bake in 3 (1 pound)
coffee cans, greased, at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Cool
slightly, then remove from cans. Bread can be frozen or
reheated. Bread is delicious with butter or cream cheese
frosting.
