WASHINGTON NUT PIE

1/2 recipe pastry
2 slightly beaten eggs
1 c. Karo syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. melted butter
1 c. pecans or walnut meats

Line 1 (9-inch) pie pan with pastry. Mix ingredients in
order as listed: eggs, Karo syrup, salt, vanilla, sugar,
butter and nuts. Pour into pastry shell. Bake in hot oven
(400 degrees) for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for 30
to 35 minutes. If salted nuts are used, omit salt in recipe.
