HOMEMADE BREAD 1 lb. flour 2 tsp. salt 1 pkg. dry yeast 1 c. butter flavored shortening 1 c. milk and additional milk Sift flour with salt in a large bowl. In small pot place shortening and milk over medium heat until melted and warm, but not hot. Remove from heat and add yeast, stirring until completely dissolved. Pour over flour and incorporate ingredients together. Continue to work while adding more warm milk until soft, manageable dough is formed. Form into desired shapes. Place on greased baking sheets 3 inches apart. Cover and allow to raise in warm place 1 hour. Place in preheated 350 degrees oven for 1/2 hour.
