LEMON NUT BREAD

1/2 c. liquid shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
rind of 1 lemon, grated
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts
3/4 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt

Combine and blend until smooth. Bake in a greased loaf
pan at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. When done, turn into a piece of
aluminum foil at once. Pour over top 1/2 cup sugar and juice
of 1 lemon. Wrap tightly. Makes 1 loaf.
