ANGEL BISCUITS 5 c. flour 1 tsp. soda 3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 4 Tbsp. sugar 1 c. shortening 1 cake yeast, dissolved in 2 Tbsp. lukewarm water 2 c. buttermilk (room temperature) Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening like pie crust. Add yeast and buttermilk. Chill 1 hour. Knead lightly, roll dough 1/2-inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter. Butter each biscuit and fold over. Freeze on wax paper. When frozen store in plastic bag. Thaw only 1/2 hour before baking. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.
