CREAM CHEESE PECAN BREAD DESSERT

1/2 c. butter or margarine,
softened
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese,
softened
3/4 c. sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 c. sour cream
2 Tbsp. grated lemon peel
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. finely chopped pecans or
walnuts

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. In
large bowl using an electric mixer, beat at medium speed butter
or margarine, cream cheese, sugar, eggs, sour cream and lemon
peel for 1 minute until blended. Add flour, baking powder and
baking soda; beat about 2 minutes until completely blended and
smooth. Stir in chopped nuts. Pour into prepared pan; bake 50
to 60 minutes until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes
out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack 5 minutes. Remove loaf
from pan; cool completely on rack. I use two pans and bake
about 30 minutes. If desired, dust with confectioners sugar,
nuts and candied lemon peel.
