PIE DOUGH

3/4 c. water
3/4 c. flour
2 1/4 tsp. salt
4 c. flour
2 c. shortening

Beat together water, flour and salt. In separate pan
blend 4 cups flour and shortening. Then add flour and water
mixture. Makes 2 large 2 crust pies or several small ones. I
use this crust for my apple dumplin's. Roll it out and cut in
squares 6 inches. Put a handful diced apples on each square.
Mix a cup of sugar more or less and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. And
place 1 teaspoon butter on each square. Fold over. Put up
side down in pan.
Make a syrup of 2 cups sugar and 2 cups water. Do not
boil syrup. Just dissolve sugar. Pour over your apple dump-
lings. Makes several large ones. Bake in 350 degrees oven as you
would apple pie.
