MY OWN RECIPE

6 to 7 c. all-purpose flour
6 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. salt
4 Tbsp. shortening
2 pkg. dry yeast (such as Red
Star or Fleischmann's)
1 qt. warm water

Put all flour in a large bowl. Make a hole in center of
flour, pushing flour to sides of bowl. Now add sugar, salt,
shortening and dry yeast. Now add warm water. Mix this very
lightly, pulling flour from the sides as needed. Grease bowl
as it is mixed in. Turn dough into grease it to keep it from
sticking. Let dough rise in a warm place (not hot place as
will cook the dough and it won't raise). Let dough double in
size. Then knead down. Divide into 4 loaves. Form loaves and
put into individual bread pans or one large pan. Small pan 8
1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inches.
