CHESS PIE

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
8 egg yolks
1/2 c. cream
3 tsp. vanilla
grated nutmeg (optional)

Cream butter and sugar together and add well beaten egg
yolks. Add the cream, meal and vanilla. Cook in a double
boiler until quite thick, stirring constantly. Pour into an
uncooked pie shell and bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees.
