MOM'S HOT ROLLS 3/4 c. milk 6 Tbsp. sugar 1 Tbsp. salt 1 egg 5 Tbsp. shortening 1/2 c. warm water 2 pkg. dry yeast 4 to 4 1/2 c. flour Scald milk; pour over sugar, shortening and salt in mixing bowl. Cool to lukewarm. Soften yeast in lukewarm water. Add beaten egg and mix well. Add to milk mixture. Add about 1/2 of flour and beat well. Add rest of flour and mix well. Place on floured board and knead well. Let rise double. Roll out. Cut in 1 1/2 to 2 inches in diameter. Brush with oleo and fold over. Let rise on cookie sheet to double size. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
