SCONES 1/2 c. butter 2 Tbsp. sugar 3/4 c. milk 2 heaping Tbsp. currants 2 c. flour 2 heaping tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt Soak currants in boiling water until tender. Blend sugar and butter. Add flour which has been sifted with baking powder and salt. Add milk and currants (drain water off). Roll out dough as for biscuits. Bake 12 to 15 minutes in 450 degrees oven.
