INDIAN FRY BREAD

1/2 c. dry milk
7 c. flour
1/3 c. baking powder
1/4 c. salt
3 1/2 c. water
cooking oil
powdered sugar (optional)

Fill frypan with oil 1 1/2-inches deep. Sprinkle a
small amount of salt in the oil to keep it from burning.
In a large bowl, combine dry milk, baking powder, flour
and salt. Add enough water to make a dough. Pull off piece of
dough and a little flour; flatten slightly. Fry in oil until
brown on one side. Turn and brown on the other side. Drain on
paper towels. Must be eaten while hot. Sprinkle with powdered
sugar if desired.
