DIET FRUIT BARS 1/2 c. raisins 1/2 c. prunes 1/2 c. dates 1 c. water 1 c. flour 1 stick oleo 2 eggs, lightly beaten 1 tsp. soda 2 tsp. vanilla salt 1/2 c. nuts 1/2 c. coconut Boil fruit in the water to soften, but not until the water is absorbed. Add oleo. Cool a bit, then add vanilla. Beat eggs; add the fruit mixture, dry ingredients, nuts and coconut. Stir well. Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. If you want spice, add 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg.
