OVEN STYLE SWISS STEAK 2 lb. beef round steak, 1 inch thick 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 medium onion, sliced 1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce Trim fat from meat; pound meat with meat mallet. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Place meat in a 11 x 7 x 2-inch baking dish. Top with onions and mushrooms. Pour tomato sauce over all. Cook covered at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Uncover; cook 15 minutes longer. Baste occasionally. To serve spoon sauce over meat. Serves 8. Calories: 171 per serving.
