WHOLE WHEAT BRAN BISCUITS 2 beaten eggs 1/3 c. milk 1 c. bran flakes 1/2 c. white flour 1/2 c. whole wheat flour 2 Tbsp. brown sugar 1 Tbsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 c. shortening Combine eggs, milk and bran flakes. Let stand 5 min- utes. Stir together rest of ingredients and cut in shortening to coarse crumbs. Make well in center and add bran mixture. Stir until dough clings together. Knead gently on lightly floured surface, 12 to 15 strokes. Divide in half. Pat each half to 6-inch circle. Cut each into 8 wedges. Bake on ungreased sheet in 450 degrees oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 16 servings. 1/2 bread exchange, 3/4 fat exchange, 15 optional calories exchange.
