TOFFEE BAR CANDY

salted soda crackers (enough
to cover the bottom of a
jelly roll pan)
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 c. margarine
1 (12 oz.) bag milk chocolate
chips
1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line jelly roll pan with foil.
Generously grease foil. Layer bottom of sheet with crackers.
Set aside. Melt brown sugar and margarine in a saucepan.
Bring to boil; boil 3 minutes. Pour over crackers and spread
immediately. Bake 5 minutes. Remove from oven, pour chocolate
chips over sugar and margarine mixture. As soon as chocolate
melts, spread chocolate to evenly coat top of candy. Top with
nuts. Refrigerate until firm. Before cutting, let candy
return to room temperature. Cut into squares. Makes about 50.
