MOM'S APPLE CAKE|
1 1/2 c. Wesson oil
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts (pecans)
3 large or 4 small cooking
apples, peeled and cut into
1 c. raisins, if desired
Then add and bake in greased and floured tube pan for 1
hour 15 minutes in 350 degrees oven. Let cool a few minutes in pan.
Glaze if desired:
1 stick margarine (1/4 lb.)
1/2 c. light brown sugar
2 Tbsp. milk
Bring to a rolling boil. Let cool 20 minutes. Pour
over cake. (Not really necessary for a good cake.)
