1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. Wesson oil
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt

1 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 small can milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. coconut
nuts (optional)

Pour boiling water over oatmeal and let cool. Mix
together brown sugar, oil, white sugar and eggs. Sift together
flour, soda, cinnamon and salt. Stir oatmeal into creamed
mixture. Mix well and then add dry ingredients. Pour into
oblong pan and bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
Topping: After cake has cooled, spread on this topping.
Boil butter, brown sugar, and milk until thick. Add vanilla
and coconut. Nuts may be added also.
