CHOCO-CARAMEL SQUARES

1 pkg. German chocolate cake
mix
1 small can evaporated milk
(5.6 oz.)
3/4 c. butter
1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
1 (6 oz.) bag chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix cake mix, melted butter and
1/2 of evaporated milk. Spread 1/2 of mixture in pan and bake
6 minutes. Meanwhile melt 1 bag caramels with remaining milk.
Remove cake from oven. Sprinkle with semi-sweet chips, spread
with caramel mixture and top with remaining cake mixture. Bake
an additional 12 to 15 minutes in a 13 x 9-inch pan.
